AEW Dynamite’s Viewer Surge: Tony Khan Celebrates Impressive Viewership
Upon the release of this week’s AEW Dynamite ratings, Tony Khan, the CEO of AEW, promptly responded to the statistics.
In the episode that aired on December 27, Dynamite featured the climactic finals of the AEW Continental Classic Gold and Blue leagues, determining the contenders for the AEW Worlds End tournament final. Although the main event unveiled Jon Moxley versus Eddie Kingston in a match to determine the inaugural AEW Triple Crown Champion, the show boasted numerous other notable moments.
From MJF losing the ROH tag team titles to the mysterious ‘Devil’s Masked Men’ to the exciting announcement of Mariah May’s AEW in-ring debut, it was evident that fans were deeply engaged with the show.
Following a noteworthy surge in viewership figures this week, Tony Khan expressed his gratitude on Twitter:
“Grateful to everyone who tuned in to Wednesday’s #AEWDynamite on @TBSNetwork, and a heartfelt thank you to the @AEW team, both inside and outside the ring. Thanks to your unwavering support and the enthusiasm of our fans, last night marked the highest @AEWonTV rating since Grand Slam in September. This bodes well for the upcoming #AEWWorldsEnd PPV this SATURDAY!”
According to Wrestlenomics on Twitter, AEW Dynamite secured a viewership figure of 843,000, accompanied by a 0.31 rating in the crucial 18-49 demographic targeted by advertisers. Notably, despite the Christmas holiday affecting viewership, this episode outperformed this week’s December 25 ‘Best Of’ edition of WWE Raw in ratings.
