Will Ospreay’s AEW Agreement Opens Door for NJPW Comeback
Will Ospreay’s AEW Deal Opens Door for NJPW Return
Former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay has officially confirmed that his recent signing with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) doesn’t mean goodbye to New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW).
At the electrifying NJPW New Beginning event in Osaka, fans witnessed a fierce battle between Bullet Club War Dogs and The United Empire, culminating in a memorable Dog Pound Steel Cage match. The match ended with David Finlay of Bullet Club pinning none other than Will Ospreay for the victory.
This showdown marked the conclusion of Ospreay’s contractual obligations with NJPW, paving the way for his new journey with AEW.
Speaking backstage after the intense bout, Will Ospreay reassured fans and media alike about his commitment to returning to the NJPW ring. He stated:
“My AEW deal is in place, but it doesn’t mean I’m bidding farewell to New Japan Pro Wrestling. I am granted the opportunity to step back into the NJPW arena for matches.”
“The timing of my return is uncertain. I must first find equilibrium as I navigate through this transitional phase. Admittedly, I’m feeling apprehensive about this next chapter. Traveling to America has always triggered anxiety within me, not because I dislike it, but because of the unfamiliarity and solitude of the journey.”
“However, I pledge to you all, without a doubt, that I will make my way back to NJPW. This is a promise I wholeheartedly intend to keep.”
