Two WWE superstars faced replacement in a significant NXT match tonight, where a 20-woman battle royal determined the contender for a future title shot.

During the latest WWE NXT episode on January 16, a compelling 20-woman battle royal took place to determine the challenger for Lyra Valkyria at Vengeance Day.

Before the intense battle royal unfolded, there was unfortunate news as it was officially confirmed that Cora Jade had suffered a torn ACL.

Commentary conveyed that Cora Jade’s expected recovery time is “up to a year.”

Another surprising absence from the match was Nikkita Lyons, who was initially featured on the match graphic but did not participate in the actual contest.

Jade and Lyons were among the 18 women initially announced for the match last week, but as of earlier today, the lineup had undergone changes.

Notably, Adriana Rizzo, Jakara Jackson, and Thea Hail were added to the graphic and featured in the match, despite not being announced last week.

This brought the total participants to 19, leaving room for one mystery entrant, later revealed to be Wren Sinclar, formerly known as the indie wrestler Madi Wrenkowski.

In Sinclar’s debut, she made a significant impact by eliminating fan favorite Lash Legend before her own elimination, which occurred just before the match narrowed down to the final four.

The last contenders standing were Fallon Henley, Kiana James, Roxanne Perez, and Kelani Jordan, with Perez emerging victorious.

Roxanne Perez is now set to challenge Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Championship at Vengeance Day on February 4.
