AEW’s tag team duo, The Infantry, comprising Captain Shawn Dean and Carlie Bravo, are riding high after their recent triumph on Collision. Their unexpected victory against Buddy Matthews and Brody King of House of Black in a Wild Card Match on the March 16 edition of AEW Collision has earned them a coveted spot in the AEW World Tag Team Title Tournament.

Their path to victory wasn’t without its twists and turns. Mark Briscoe’s timely intervention turned the tide in their favor, helping Dean and Bravo clinch the win. Reflecting on their achievement in an AEW digital exclusive, The Infantry expressed their elation.

Shawn Dean exclaimed, “Damn, Bravo. We just slipped into the next round, baby,” to which Carlie Bravo responded incredulously, “Really, bro?”

Dean continued, “I’m just saying, look, bro. At war, it’s not about how you win, it’s if you win,” a sentiment Bravo readily agreed with.

Acknowledging the challenges they’ve overcome to reach this stage in the tournament, The Infantry emphasized their resilience. “We’ve been through a lot of battles, man, and every battle ain’t gonna go according to plan. But tonight, everything went to plan,” stated Dean.

Bravo chimed in with frustration, “They try to count us out. They act like we weren’t supposed to be here. We wasn’t supposed to make it out of the city. We wasn’t supposed to make it out of war.”

Continuing, he asserted, “We wasn’t supposed to be in AEW. We wasn’t supposed to be in this tag tournament. But hey, plot twist, we in it, and we won it. Now what everybody gotta say? What, you thought this was a game?”

Dean added emphatically, “Sometimes, at war, you don’t realize, it ain’t about attacking. Sometimes, it’s about survival, and that’s exactly what we had to do tonight. Survive, son. Stop playing with us. You know what’s next, right? Big time.”

Concluding with a warning to their next opponents, FTR, in the Quarterfinals of the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament, The Infantry made their intentions clear—they’re here to compete and win.
