GUNTHER Triumphs in 19th Consecutive Intercontinental Title Bout Against The Miz on WWE Raw

GUNTHER remains Intercontinental Champion after a successful title defense against The Miz in the Monday episode on “WWE Raw.” Miz was hoping to win a historic ninth time to claim the title but was halted cold by powerbombs and clotheslines by GUNTHER, the “Ring General.” Since Miz is down the title, he is no longer able to challenge for the title while GUNTHER remains champion, according to the rules made in last week’s episode.

Miz was able to put in a strong performance throughout the contest with a steady stream of chops. At one point, both were in the ring. GUNTHER tried to deliver a massive chop on the former champion but Miz was able to get out of out of the way. GUNTHER hit the ring’s post using the right hand of his. Miz was able to slash GUNTHER’s injured hand through the contest.

Miz could hit two finales of the Skull Crushing and one of them was off the second rope however, he was unable to get the cover in time and GUNTHER was able to escape the Ring. This was Miz the last scream of his life and GUNTHER struck a powerbomb, clothingline, and then a powerbomb, which pinned Miz to the Intercontinental title.

In the following show, GUNTHER told Imperium he took some time off in order to “recharge,” meaning he will return in 2024 as champion as his reign is now in 556 days. The victory over Miz is GUNTHER’s 19th consecutive victory in the title, after he took it against Ricochet in June 2022.
