NXT Stand & Deliver: Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams Set for Grudge Match WrestleMania Weekend
WWE

The WWE has set the stage for an explosive showdown at WrestleMania weekend in Philadelphia with a highly anticipated grudge match.

Months of speculation finally came to a head at NXT Vengeance Day when Carmelo Hayes delivered a stunning blow to his former best friend, Trick Williams.

The tension escalated further during last week’s Roadblock special when Trick returned to exact revenge on Hayes following his defeat against Tony D’Angelo in an NXT Championship number one contender’s match.

According to a report by Sports Illustrated, the long-awaited grudge match between Hayes and Williams is now officially slated for NXT Stand & Deliver on April 6.

The preview on WWE.com sets the stage for what promises to be an electrifying encounter:

“Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes will collide head-to-head as former friends at NXT Stand & Deliver inside the Wells Fargo Center.”

Together as the Trick Melo Gang, Hayes and Williams dominated the NXT scene, with Hayes clinching the North American Championship twice and the NXT Championship once, establishing themselves as the most formidable duo in the locker room.

However, as Hayes’ star continued to rise, Williams began to carve out his own path to stardom, leading to simmering jealousy and ultimately culminating in a mysterious attack after Williams emerged as the 2023 Iron Survivor.

Following Williams’ unsuccessful NXT Title Match against Ilja Dragunov at Vengeance Day, a post-match assault by Hayes severed their friendship irreparably.

Don’t miss out on this epic showdown between former allies at NXT Stand & Deliver on Saturday, April 6, streaming live at noon ET/9 a.m. PT on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network worldwide.

Additionally, the event will feature a highly anticipated NXT Championship clash between Ilja Dragunov and Tony D’Angelo.
