AEW Sensation Requests Another Bout: Maria Kanellis in the Spotlight
A current AEW talent recently hinted at the possibility of stepping back into the ring for one final match in their wrestling career.
Maria Kanellis, known for her various roles in wrestling, currently manages Griff Garrison and Cole Karter’s tag team on Ring of Honor television. Despite her managerial duties, Maria hasn’t competed in a match since July 1, 2019, when she and Mike Kanellis faced Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch in a Mixed Tag Team match on Raw.
Maria’s last physical appearance inside the ring was at WrestleMania 35 during the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal. However, during a recent Monopoly Events Q&A, Maria revealed that she has been approached about the possibility of having one more match.
When asked about potential opponents for this hypothetical match, Maria mentioned several names, including Deonna Purrazzo and Queen Aminata, both from AEW. She expressed admiration for Queen Aminata’s inspirational journey and noted Toni Storm as another possible opponent.
Maria confessed that her daughter’s desire to see her wrestle one more time adds to the temptation, though she couldn’t guarantee the quality of her performance if she were to return to the ring.
