Tony Khan has confirmed that a member of the AEW roster will be absent from tonight’s Dynamite due to illness, and a replacement has been secured.

This evening’s event promises a headline match between Samoa Joe and FTW Champion HOOK for the AEW World Championship, along with other significant bouts. However, one familiar voice will be notably absent.

In an announcement on Twitter, Tony Khan revealed that Tony Schiavone won’t be able to attend tonight’s show due to illness. Stepping in to fill his role alongside Excalibur and Taz will be Ian Riccaboni.

Tony Khan’s tweet reads:

“Unfortunately, @tonyschiavone24 won’t be able to join us tonight due to illness. Stepping in on commentary for Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite is the talented @IanRiccaboni! Wishing Tony a speedy recovery. See you in St. Louis this Saturday at #AEWCollision! Catch the action on @TBSNetwork tonight!”

In addition to the AEW World Championship clash, the show will feature Deonna Purrazzo’s inaugural Dynamite match as an official AEW signee, where she faces off against Anna Jay.

Another highlight is the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship bout, pitting Brian Cage & the Gates of Agony against Bullet Club Gold’s Jay White and the Gunns.

Austin Gunn has teased the debut of their new entrance music during the show.
