AEW President Tony Khan’s WrestleMania Weekend Plans Confirmed for Philadelphia

It appears that AEW President Tony Khan’s intentions for WWE WrestleMania 40 weekend in Philadelphia have now been verified. The highly anticipated WrestleMania 40 is scheduled to unfold on April 6 and 7, 2024, in Philadelphia, with the city gearing up for the excitement of WrestleMania week.

Historically, Tony Khan has orchestrated ROH’s Supercard of Honor event during WrestleMania week, typically unfolding on the Friday preceding WrestleMania night one. Initially, Khan had stated that there were no plans for an AEW/ROH show during WrestleMania weekend. However, recent developments suggest a change in those plans.

As per reports from Fightful Select (subscription required), the ROH Supercard of Honor is internally listed on the company’s schedule for April 5 in Philadelphia. The event is set to take place at the Liacouras Center, boasting a capacity of 10,000, albeit scaled down for a more intimate atmosphere.

Notably, AEW had previously showcased Dynamite from the same venue in April 2022, featuring the memorable match between Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, along with Scorpio Sky’s victory in a Ladder match for the TNT Championship.
