A former WWE Champion with an extensive career spanning multiple decades has opened up about his newfound enjoyment in AEW, expressing that he is “having a blast” working with the company.

Adam Copeland, famously known as Edge during his 25-year tenure in WWE, has ventured outside the confines of the company for the first time and is experiencing significant success in his AEW journey.

Making his AEW debut at WrestleDream 2023 in October, Copeland engaged in a compelling feud with his former tag team partner, Christian Cage. He clinched the AEW TNT Championship from The Patriarch at Worlds End 2023, only to lose it back to him shortly after.

In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Copeland shared his appreciation for his time in AEW and highlighted the significance of the company’s presence in the current wrestling landscape:

“Having more than one platform to showcase your skills is beneficial for everyone involved in the wrestling industry. A monopoly is never a good idea, not just for us as performers but also as consumers. I believe in having more choices. You don’t have to pick one over the other; you can embrace them all.”

Copeland reminisced about his own wrestling fandom, recalling the excitement of discovering different wrestling promotions beyond the mainstream. He emphasized the importance of variety, which is why he finds AEW so appealing:

“AEW is fantastic because it offers diverse wrestling experiences. Witnessing this variety is truly special, and I am thoroughly enjoying my time here.”

Throughout his stint in AEW, Copeland has faced off against several first-time opponents, including a recent match against Japanese wrestling legend Minoru Suzuki. Additionally, the Hall of Famer has used his platform to shine a spotlight on emerging talents by issuing open challenges on AEW Collision, featuring matchups against rising stars like Lee Moriarty and Griff Garrison.
