Ahead of his imminent move to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Will Ospreay, the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, took a moment to express his appreciation to various individuals, including a former WWE star, who supported him during his tenure in NJPW.
Despite sealing his AEW contract since Full Gear 2023 in November, Ospreay spent the ensuing months wrapping up his eight-year journey with NJPW, culminating in his final match at NJPW: The New Beginning on February 11.
In a heartfelt tribute on Twitter, Ospreay thanked his comrades in the United Empire faction, acknowledging their unwavering support during his time in NJPW, particularly during his intense steel cage match against the Bullet Club War Dogs at New Beginning.
Ospreay’s message began with a shoutout to the members of UE, emphasizing their pivotal role in rejuvenating NJPW and likening them to family. He expressed his readiness to support them whenever needed and thanked them for their shared historic moment in the cage.
Subsequently, Ospreay dedicated individual messages to each member of the United Empire, starting with HENARE, highlighting his resilience and warrior spirit displayed during a challenging match.
Moving on to Great-O-Khan, Ospreay praised his character and recounted a heroic act where he intervened to protect a young girl from harm.
Former WWE star TJP received accolades for his invaluable advice and experience, which Ospreay deeply appreciated.
Jeff Cobb, the United Empire’s inaugural recruit, was commended for his demeanor and camaraderie in the locker room.
Francesco Akira was playfully teased for Italy’s triumph in the Euro 2020 final, but Ospreay expressed genuine affection for their bond and Akira’s growth.
Lastly, Ospreay conveyed heartfelt sentiments to his protege Callum Newman, encouraging him to stay focused on his dreams and expressing confidence in his potential.
Despite bidding farewell to NJPW, Ospreay addressed speculation about a potential return, clarifying his stance regarding his AEW contract and any future involvement with the promotion.
With his departure from NJPW imminent, Ospreay’s heartfelt messages reflect the bonds forged during his tenure and the anticipation surrounding his new chapter in AEW.
Thank you to all the lads of UE.
When the fans didn’t have a voice we were the shot in the arse that NJPW needed. You all are like my brothers and if you ever needed me, my door will always be open to you all.
Thank you for getting in that cage with me & making history pic.twitter.com/QIrOi62Vha

My co founder @Great_O_Khan
You have shown so many of us the human you are when you saved a little girl from being attacked by a dude. I’ve known exactly who you are the first month we teamed up.
You’re one of a kind, proud I got to have the time I did with you.

Big Jefferson Cobb. First guy me & O’khan brought into the group. For his size, strength & endurance. But the @RealJeffCobb I know enjoys doing Bane impressions and like to avoid pain as much as possible ?
You’re the coolest guy I’ve ever had in the locker room. Thank you
