Miraculous Comeback: WWE Hall of Famer Afa of The Wild Samoans Released from Hospital
The family of Afa Anoa’i, distinguished as a WWE Hall of Famer from the Wild Samoans lineage, provided a health update this Sunday via X (formerly Twitter).
The announcement, originating from Anoai’s official X page associated with WXW Wrestling, disclosed his imminent discharge from the hospital. Afa Anoa’i has been under medical care since Thursday, grappling with pneumonia and enduring two heart attacks.
“These past few days have been fraught with challenges, but our cherished patriarch, #WWE Hall of Famer Afa the Wild Samoan, is set to return home today! Navigating pneumonia and overcoming two mild heart attacks, he resiliently declares: ‘I kicked out at 1,'” conveyed the message on the official WXW Wrestling X page.
Expressions of solidarity were extended by notable figures like Rob Van Dam and former WCW luminary Scotty Riggs, affirming their support for the erstwhile WWF and NWA Tag Team Champion.
Afa Anoa’i’s wrestling companion was none other than his sibling Sika, the paternal figure to the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns.
Inducted into the prestigious WWE Hall of Fame in 2007, the Wild Samoans made a notable appearance at the WWE Hell in the Cell premium live event in 2020. This appearance coincided with Reigns’ triumph over Jey Uso, symbolizing his ascent to the revered title of the “Tribal Chief.”
Afa Anoa’i’s progeny includes former WWE luminaries Manu, affiliated with the Legacy stable, and Samu, recognized for his contributions to the ’90s promotion. Teaming up with WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, Samu formed a renowned alliance known as the Headshrinkers.
