NXT's Brutal Tryout Process Remembered by WWE Pro

A WWE NXT star currently on the roster, Brooks Jensen, reminisces about the challenging trial process he underwent when auditioning for the company alongside other prominent names.

Despite now being a well-known NXT figure, Brooks Jensen reflects on the “brutal” experiences during his tryouts, where he, alongside notable personalities like Bodi Hayward, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, Brutus Creed, and Tony D’Angelo, underwent grueling physical assessments at the Performance Center.

Recalling the intense workout routine, Jensen details a regimen of 200 push-ups, 200 squats, 200 sit-ups, 200 get-ups, and various cardio exercises. He emphasizes the demanding nature of the tryouts, mentioning the basic training involved, including ring rolls and fundamental techniques. Jensen, as the only independent wrestling fan among the participants, describes this phase as akin to a modern-day college athlete’s testing ground.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Jensen acknowledges the toughness of the experience and feels fortunate to have been exempted from a particular class. Signed to NXT on August 30, 2021, and officially introduced on September 14, Jensen and his tag team partner, Josh Briggs, have engaged in tag team competitions. However, recent indications suggest the possibility of the duo exploring additional singles matches.

As Jensen ventures into singles fights on Level Up and Briggs participates in The Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline, fans can anticipate further developments and stay informed about the latest updates.
