A former WWE Champion has shared his thoughts on the upcoming induction of Paul Heyman into the WWE Hall of Fame this year in Philadelphia.

Paul Heyman, known as The Bloodline’s “Wise Man,” has been announced as the inaugural inductee into the 2024 Hall of Fame class by WWE.

This announcement has received widespread acclaim, especially considering Heyman’s deep ties to Philadelphia as the former proprietor of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).

One individual who owes much of his career success to Heyman is Rob Van Dam, a former WWE Champion.

During a conversation with Bill Apter, RVD was asked for his reaction to Paul Heyman’s impending induction. He responded:

“It’s great to see him receiving this recognition because he was instrumental in shaping the landscape of ECW. Without him, ECW wouldn’t have been possible.”

“He was the driving force behind it all, demonstrating remarkable leadership, courage, passion, and artistic vision. Paul, thank you for everything.”

Reflecting on Heyman’s influence within WWE, Van Dam remarked:

“Since his tenure in WWE, he’s climbed the ranks effortlessly.”

“During my time there, when we were transitioning from ECW, Heyman faced considerable opposition from other agents who were resistant to change. But despite the challenges, many of us recognized his brilliance.”

“He was always willing to offer advice and support to wrestlers, even before it was officially part of his role. To witness his rise within WWE—from overseeing everything at ECW to achieving success on a larger scale—is truly inspiring.”

“It’s evident that his hard work and dedication have paid off.”

Rob Van Dam himself was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021. His recent appearances include a stint on the February 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, with further appearances scheduled for AEW Collision on April 20.
