AEW’s Rising Star Billie Starkz: Embracing the Betty White Spirit in Wrestling
At the tender age of 19, Billie Starkz has already carved out a career that many seasoned veterans would envy. Over the course of her five-year journey in the wrestling world, she has etched her presence in various promotions such as GCW and MLW. More recently, she has been ascending as a star in the realms of AEW and Ring of Honor. Despite her youth, Starkz shows no signs of slowing down and has no plans to hang up her boots anytime soon.
During an interview with “Covalent TV,” Starkz was questioned about the possibility of an early retirement due to her early start in the wrestling scene. However, her determination shines through as she expresses her commitment to continue battling in the ring for as long as possible, aspiring to be the wrestling equivalent of iconic Hollywood figures.
“I made a lighthearted remark about this because I manage my finances wisely,” Starkz shared. “I thought, ‘At what age could I retire if I keep earning at this pace?’ And then I thought, ‘Hmm, maybe by the time I’m 45.’ But in reality, in my mind, I won’t consider retirement until I’m around 90. Picture me as the Betty White of wrestling, strutting down the ramp and saying, ‘Hey, powerbomb me off this table really quick!'”
Starkz might be taking a step closer to embracing the title of wrestling’s Betty White at the upcoming ROH Final Battle next week. This marks a pivotal moment in her career as she steps into the ring for the most significant match of her journey. Formerly known as the “Minion in Training,” Starkz will face Athena, her former mentor, with the prestigious ROH Women’s World Championship hanging in the balance.
