AEW’s Tony Khan Breaks News on Unexpected Unavailability Due to Injuries
AEW the president Tony Khan took to social media to update his followers in the hours before tonight’s Dynamite aired with a reference to a “hectic week’ of injuries.
In advance of the 21st February Dynamite, Khan said that this week had been a whirlwind of injuries as well as unexpected inability.
Tony Khan wrote:
“This is one of the most stressful weeks of injuries and unexpected absences that I have experienced in the @AEW team, particularly in the pandemic timeframe.
“Tonight will be a wild night on @TBSNetwork!”
During the event the show, it was revealed the Trent Beretta wasn’t medically cleared and had to be substituted in his fight with Mike Bennett by Orange Cassidy who had recently been cleared from a scrape however it’s not clear whether Beretta has been injured in real life or it’s merely part of the story.
In the initial match in tonight’s AEW Dynamite the match which went over the timing limit drawing distance, FTR faced off against The Blackpool Combat Club in tag match action.
Dax Harwood as well as Cash Wheeler had an intense match with Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley but the mid-Shatter Machine when FTR was poised to win when the bell rang out to conclude the match.
But when the two fights continued the bell continued to ring while security officials, and even members of the front office all came out to end the fighting.
Tonight’s #AEWDynamite, NEXT on TBS, will be presented with up to 5 minutes overrun!
This has been one of the most hectic weeks for injuries + unexpected unavailability that I can recall in @AEW, especially since the pandemic era.
