Chris Jericho Unveils Exclusive Insights Into His Vietnam Expedition in Upcoming Documentary
While Chris Jericho’s AEW World Tag Team Champion bid is in doubt due to Kenny Omega’s battle with diverticulitis Chris Jericho has had plenty to keep him busy and has recently traveled to Vietnam. In Vietnam, Jericho made a surprise appearance at Vietnam Pro Wrestling. Vietnamese promotions Vietnam Pro Wrestling the event which came up when Jericho made an documentary on wrestling in Vietnam after speaking with VPW promoters on the podcast “Talk is Jericho.”
As Jericho stated in an interview on “WFAA,” it was the appearance on the podcast which made Jericho to think about the subject further, since his prior knowledge of Vietnam was merely related with the Vietnam War and movies on the topic.
“After the podcast was over, [I was] kind of listening to what they went through to get it started, and the passion they had,” Jericho stated. “They did not even have a ring for wrestling initially, they competed in mats. I thought it was an extremely interesting documentary there, and I’ve also done two documentaries so far…So the people were there, possibly around ten days earlier than I was there, however, I knew that I had to go.
“We didn’t even know what capacity, but while I was there, we came up with the ending of the documentary. It’s going to be very cool, very heartwarming, and it’s going to once again show that pro wrestling is this entity that is worldwide. It’s not just here in the States, it’s not just in Canada, it’s everywhere. And it makes people happy and gives them a chance to live their dreams, no matter what country you happen to be born in. And I just thought ‘That’s a story I wanted to tell.'”
