Prominent WWE Figure Voices Encouragement for CM Punk's Career Advancement

A prominent WWE superstar has spoken about CM Punk’s return WWE and how he would like to see Punk “works his way” back to the highest levels.

Punk returned to WWE after 10 years away during the finale of the Survivor Series event in Chicago.

The return of Punk to WWE occurred after he was dismissed in a retaliation action by AEW in September, following an investigation into the incident backstage during All in at Wembley Stadium.

His return to WWE has caused a lot of controversy between fans and the people within the organization, and one of the biggest stars has echoed those feelings.

In an interview with WWE Champion Bobby Lashley spoke about CM Punk’s return. He said that he talked to a lot of individuals about it and had mixed reactions.

Lashley added that he is hoping Punk will be forced to climb up the ranks of corporate ladder rather than just being given awards.

He added:

“I really don’t know what to say, to be sincere with you. I actually left around the time Punk began to gain steam. Punk was there but he really didn’t take on any role at the time. I’m sure he made an enormous impact on WWE in the time he was there.

“I have spoken to some of the people who know him and had mixed opinions. Some people are extremely opposed to it, while others are “Ah you know, whatever. It’s a place of opportunities. Therefore, if he does return and helps with to the program, then that’s the commercial aspect of it. I don’t know Punk in a personal way. While I was fighting, Punk went to UFC. I put my money in him, therefore he might due me a small amount (laughs). Twice! I was like, “What is it you’re doing? Come on.’

“But I’m hoping that the whole issue is and everybody else. I believe that for the sake of integrity I know he’s got an impressive name, he’s returning and going to make some huge numbers. However, I would like to see his work something. I’m hoping they don’t let him be one of the people who say, ‘Oh that’s fine, he’ll return and wins the Rumble, and we’ll perform this, we’re going to perform this. I’m hoping that they allow him the chance to prove that he is loyal to company as well as the employees working the business. Let everyone know that some of the people who are naysayers, those who aren’t pleased with his presence I would like to see him get the chance to climb way back to the top, not be handed everything just due to the fact that he might have negotiated an important contract that let him achieve this…”
