Unveiling Will Ospreay’s Opponent for AEW Revolution on Dynamite
As AEW gears up for its landmark event, Revolution, all eyes are on the transition of former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, Will Ospreay, to the AEW roster. With his NJPW contract set to expire, Ospreay’s full-time move to AEW has become the talk of the wrestling world.
On the recent episode of “AEW Dynamite,” Don Callis dropped a bombshell by announcing that Ospreay would clash with Konosuke Takeshita on March 3 at the Revolution PPV in Greensboro, NC. Interestingly, this match marks only the second time Ospreay and Takeshita will share the ring, the first being at AEW WrestleDream where they teamed up against some of AEW’s biggest stars.
Ospreay’s journey to AEW began in November when he officially signed with the promotion, facilitated by the working relationship between AEW and NJPW. This collaboration allowed AEW to secure the signature of the then-IWGP United Kingdom Heavyweight Champion.
Having wrapped up his commitments in Japan, Ospreay competed at Wrestle Kingdom 18 in January, where he faced Jon Moxley and the now-IWGP Global Champion David Finlay in a losing effort. His final NJPW appearance occurred at New Beginning In Osaka, where he and his United Kingdom faction suffered defeat in a ten-man steel cage tag team match against Bullet Club War Dogs.
