Warner Bros Discovery Talks with Tony Khan: WWE Discussions Revealed

AEW President Tony Khan has commented on recent discussions between Warner Bros Discovery and WWE. Warner Brothers Discovery (WBD) currently owns the networks TBS and TNT, the broadcasting homes of AEW’s Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision shows.

Before WWE secured a new TV rights deal for Raw in September, reports emerged in December 2023 suggesting that key WWE figures, including Triple H, had engaged in talks with WBD executives. These discussions have sparked widespread speculation regarding the potential relocation of WWE’s Raw to a WBD-owned network.

In an interview on Going Ringside with News4Jax, Tony Khan expressed confidence in AEW’s position with WBD as they approach the renewal of their own TV rights. When questioned about the interactions between WWE and WBD, Khan acknowledged the nature of discussions in the sports industry:

“It’s part of sports. I think everybody discusses contracts and free agency and things of that nature. I think everybody is aware that everybody is going to be talking to everybody in media this coming year. There will be certainly a lot of opportunities. We’ve had a great history with Warner Brothers Discovery and continue to produce great ratings. We’ll be in a very good position next year.”
